Master 2 Matériaux en films minces et surfaces - Management industriel (apprentissage)

Course Details

Objectives : This master's training by apprenticeship offers a general approach to the problems dealt with during the manufacture of new products involving surface treatments and the deposition of thin layers. It allows the student to develop their professional project in connection with industrial sectors while pursuing high-level training in the field of materials where surfaces and interfaces play a fundamental role. For this, basic and practical teaching on surface treatments is coupled with industrial management lessons.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Prerequisites : Master 1 or equivalent training in Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics or Materials Sciences and Engineering
Master 1 Materials and industrial management – ??Apprenticeship from the University of Paris-Saclay
Master 1 Functional Materials from Paris-Saclay University
2nd year of validated engineering school or double diploma in final year

Acquired skills during the training : - (Know) Know the elements of physico-chemistry of surfaces and growth of thin films.
- (Know-how) Have a clear knowledge of particle?matter, photon?matter interactions for the characterization of materials.
- (Know-how) Understand, master and use digital tools applied to surfaces and thin layers.
- (Let people know) Know how to synthesize, format and present results in French and English.
- (Social skills) Being able to participate/lead a project as part of team work, knowing how to build interpersonal relationships.
- (Social skills) Include your activities in an approach that respects ethics.

Targeted careers : Among active graduates:
- Around 70% obtain an engineering position in the private sector, mainly in large groups (Thales, Safran, Eurofins, Peugeot, Framatome, Air Liquide, Airbus, EDF, Air France, etc.)
- Around 20% obtain an engineering position in the public sector (CNRS, CEA, IOGS, etc.)
- Around 10% continue on to a thesis, in a laboratory or in a company (CIFRE thesis)
The sectors hiring the most are aeronautics, microelectronics, mobility and transport, renewable energies, etc.
